About this brewery
Founded in 2017 by brewing engineers Antoine Limbourg and Peter Gerard, Valduc-Thor Brewery sits in the hamlet of Ponceau in Thorembais-Saint-Trond (Perwez), reviving the former Meurice-Hanquet brewery. This cooperative microbrewery upholds the strictest Belgian tradition: bottle-refermented beers, mostly local ingredients, and no spices or additives. Committed to a social and ecological approach, it brews five traditional beers — including the gold-medal triple amber Rio — plus a limited-edition seasonal. Beyond brewing, Valduc-Thor trains future brewers and welcomes visitors for tastings led by the master brewer, true to its motto: the quest for authenticity.
