Communes & Regions

RECORB Network

The European Network of Brewing Communes and Regions (RECORB – non-profit organisation) was founded by enthusiasts of beer tourism in June 2026. The aim of the network is to promote, unite and showcase, at a European level, the towns, municipalities and regions whose heritage, economic or socio-cultural activities have a significant beer-related dimension. Public bodies (tourist offices), semi-public bodies (local/regional development agencies) and private organisations that also contribute to sustainable beer tourism, local economic development and the cultural influence of European brewing regions may also join the network.

The network's work is in line with European policies promoting sustainable tourism, rural development, the promotion of local heritage and high-quality agri-food products.

The network's four objectives

  • To promote Europe's brewing heritage and enable local authorities and regions to play their full part in promoting local brewing expertise and traditions.
  • To stimulate sustainable beer tourism through responsible trips, routes, itineraries, labels and experiences that attract national and international visitors across the whole territory, whether in towns or rural areas.
  • To make beer a gateway to Europe's historical and cultural heritage by linking it to the landscape, gastronomy, history and regional traditions, as a vehicle for a shared European identity.
  • To foster local economic development by supporting and promoting all local brewing stakeholders (brewers, microbrewers, pub owners, restaurateurs, maltsters, hop growers, etc.).
