INTRODUCTION
On 25 and 26 September 2026, the Strasbourg Craft Beer Festival takes over the Salle Marcel Marceau in the Neudorf district. Organised by the Esprit Craft association, this gathering brings together craft breweries, food trucks, concerts and blind tastings in a laid-back atmosphere. Strasbourg is no ordinary beer city: the historic capital of French brewing, it borders Schiltigheim, the “city of brewers”. Here, the craft scene converses with a brewing heritage rooted for centuries. This Festi'Tour offers a one-day walking route: city-centre brewpubs, the cathedral, Petite France, Alsatian gastronomy, then on to the festival, the grand finale of the experience.
MEET
Start on Rue de la Lanterne, a stone's throw from Place Kléber. At Brasserie La Lanterne, also known as L'Ours, beer has been brewed on site since the 1990s: it is one of France's pioneering brewpubs. TASTE
Head for Rue des Veaux, behind the cathedral. At Au Brasseur (Almibra), blondes, ambers and wheat beers ferment on site: order a tasting board with a crispy tarte flambée. Later on the route, stop off at Bendorf in Neudorf: this organic brewery founded in 2013 pours seven year-round beers plus a new limited edition every two weeks, available to take away in growlers. Between glasses, let the city guide you. From Rue des Veaux, Notre-Dame Cathedral is a five-minute walk away: climb to the platform for the rooftop views, then admire the astronomical clock. Cross the UNESCO-listed Grande Île to Petite France: half-timbered houses, canals and former tanners' homes. Continue to the Ponts Couverts and the panoramic terrace of the Barrage Vauban, the finest viewpoint in Strasbourg. Break for lunch in a local winstub: sauerkraut, pretzel or tarte flambée. JOIN
In the late afternoon, head south to Neudorf: a thirty-minute walk, or tram C to the Jean Monnet stop. After the stop at Bendorf on Rue Jean Jaurès, the Salle Marcel Marceau awaits on Place Albert Schweitzer. A tasting glass is handed out at the entrance, pours come in 10 or 25 cl, with craft breweries from France and beyond, food trucks and concerts: the festival is the natural culmination of the day.
